internal soup: rilla
16 FEBRUARY – 5 MARCH 2023

The entry and exit of ideas into the human mind is as active as the passing of oxygen in and out of our lungs. The general consensus around ideas emphasises attachment to self, the belief that we are the soul founder of an idea which in turn shapes our day, relationships, persona and all else that one’s life entails.

Jarring chatter,
Bleeding gums,
Silent always,
Like we’ve won,
Just is as all can only be.

Beliefs are the disease.
Uncomfortable solidified,
Yet all can always melt,
So can I say it?
Is it rude to say?
This place in which we die,
Seems to be the breeding ground
Where our beliefs create the sky.

- rilla

So I ask ‘Ideas what are they? Where do they come from? Why is it that they are contained within and moving between our flesh vessels?’

Opening event: Friday 17 February, 6 – 8pm
