Sanctum: Kate Symons

'A place to run away to, a place escape to. We’ve all lived through unprecedented times. This is my response to these times and my escape from reality. My sanctum.'

In her solo exhibition Sanctum, Kate Symons presents a series of woven sculptures made during a period of isolation; an exercise in catharthis responding to a tumultuous time.

Kate Symons was the recipient of the Clifroy Prize – Exhibition Prize in our 2019 Small Works Art Prize, as selected by Lauren Zoric, Associate Director – Tolarno Galleries on behalf of our supporting partners Community Bank – Clifton Hill/North Fitzroy.
